Commercial drone inspections

See what's wrong up there — without ladders, lifts or guesswork

A drone inspection gets a close, clear look at roofs, buildings, farm structures and other assets that are slow, costly or unsafe to reach. SiouxSky flies the asset systematically, captures detailed imagery, and flags the visible issues — so you know what needs attention and can send the right contractor with the right information.

The challenge

Why clients ask for drone inspections

  • Getting up there is slow, costly and risky

Lifts, ladders and roof walks take time to arrange and put people at height — often just to find out whether there's a problem at all.

  • Problems are found too late

Damage on roofs, bins and upper walls usually goes unseen until it leaks, spreads or fails.

  • Storms leave you guessing

After hail or high wind, owners need to know quickly what's visibly damaged before calling contractors or an adjuster.

What can be performed

Available services

  • Roof inspections

Flat and pitched commercial, agricultural and residential roofs: membranes, shingles, flashing, drains, penetrations, rooftop units and edges — inspected section by section.

  • Commercial property inspections

Building envelopes, upper walls, parapets, signage, gutters, parking lots and grounds on single buildings or multi-building sites.

  • Farm and ag facility inspections

Barn and shed roofs, grain bins, legs and elevators, farmstead buildings, fencing and drainage — including post-storm checks.

  • Commercial asset inspections

Solar arrays, light poles, water features, tanks and other exterior assets that are hard to see up close from the ground.

Scope & limitations

What this service is — and isn't

  • These are visual inspections of what can be seen from the air. They are not engineering, structural, code-compliance or certified roof inspections, and SiouxSky does not certify condition or remaining life.
  • Observations should be confirmed by a qualified roofer, contractor, engineer or insurance adjuster before repairs or claims are decided.
  • Hidden conditions — moisture under a membrane, interior damage, structural defects — can't be seen in standard imagery. Thermal imaging is not currently offered.
  • Flights near energized equipment, towers, critical infrastructure or in restricted airspace are evaluated case by case and may not be possible.

How it works

How it works: Drone Inspections

  1. 01

    Submit project details

Tell us the location, what you need captured, your timeframe and how the results will be used.

Tell us the asset, what prompted the inspection (age, leak, storm) and any known problem areas.

  2. 02

    Receive a scope and quote

You get a written scope listing views, deliverables, schedule assumptions and price — before anything is booked.

The scope lists the areas to be inspected, the report format and price.

  3. 03

    Confirm schedule and flight feasibility

Airspace, permissions, site access, weather and on-site conditions are reviewed and a flight window is set.

Owner permission, site hazards, people on site, airspace and weather are confirmed.

  4. 04

    Receive the agreed deliverables

Edited, organized files are delivered to the structure agreed in your scope.

You receive organized imagery, annotated photos and a written summary of visible issues.

Every flight depends on airspace, property-owner and site permissions, weather, site conditions and the regulations that apply at the time. If a flight can't be completed safely and legally, it won't be attempted — and you'll know before the visit.

Packages

How this work is typically scoped

Packages are starting points, not fixed menus. Each project is quoted individually once the site and requirements are known.
  • Commercial Drone Inspection

    Request a Quote

A visual drone inspection of a roof, building, farm structure or other asset, with the visible issues marked and summarized.

    Scope can include

    • Systematic close-range capture of every agreed area
    • Annotated photos of visible issues
    • Written summary organized by area

FAQ

Drone Inspections: common questions

Will you tell us what's wrong?

Yes — the report marks and describes the issues visible in the imagery, such as damaged or missing material, ponding, debris, separation or rust. It's a visual inspection, so anything that affects a repair decision or claim should be confirmed by a qualified contractor, engineer or adjuster.

Is a drone inspection the same as a certified roof inspection?

No. A drone inspection is a visual inspection. It is not a certified, engineering or code inspection and doesn't replace one when your insurer, lender or municipality requires it — but it's a fast, low-cost way to see the condition of a roof and decide what needs a closer look.

Can you inspect after a hail or wind storm?

Yes. Post-storm inspections document visible damage across roofs and structures so you can brief contractors or your adjuster. Scheduling depends on weather and airspace after the storm.

What farm structures can you inspect?

Barn and shed roofs, grain bins and their roofs, elevators, farmstead buildings, fencing and drainage. Livestock areas are approached at heights that avoid disturbing animals.
